Boxing day 'dip' raises over £250

Dr Janice Ellis, BSSPD's honorary secretary, took part in a boxing day dip into the North Sea in order to raise money for the City of Sunderland Amateur Swimming Club.

Janice reported that the dip was successfully completed. Along with the rest of the family she donned fancy dress (strange white romper suits!), ran across the snow covered beach and 'dipped' into the sea.

Lucy and Tim (Janice's two children) dived in head first - apparently she wasn't quite so brave but did get into to shoulder depth.

In the photo below, Janice is far right with Lucy to her left (with swim hat on), and Tim behind her.

The bunches are not her usual hair style but they were meant to be dressed as water babies - hence the pink bib also.
