Heraeus Kulzer Undergraduate Essay Prize
The prize is awarded annually for the best essay on a topic choosen by the President.
The British Society of Prosthodontics, in association with Heraeus Kulzer Ltd., offers an annual prize to be awarded to an undergraduate student for an essay in the field of Prosthodontics. The prize will take the form of a cash award of £250 together with a certificate. The winner of the prize will be invited to the Annual Conference as the Society's guest.
The essay title for the 2012 award is:
"Discuss the current prosthodontic challenges facing the dental profession and how new innovations have been designed to address them"

A candidate should not possess a dental qualification and no individual may win the award more than once. Award of the prize will be made by the officers of the Society on the recommendation of a panel of assessors appointed for this purpose. The Society may withhold the award if it is considered that entries are not of sufficient merit.
Entry forms should be returned to the Awards Administrator at least two weeks before the essay deadline.
The essay should be typewritten, must not exceed 4,000 words and, together with any relevant drawings, photographs or radiographs, should be submitted to the Awards Administrator before 27th January 2012. The format of the essay should conform to the guidelines for manuscripts published in the International Journal of Prosthodontics.
This prize was awarded to Kathryn Webster, a third year undergraduate student from Liverpool for her essay entitled "How will new advances in research enhance the clinical practice of prosthetic dentistry".
