Paul Hyde

Prof Hyde obtained his primary degree, BChD, from the University of Leeds in 1981 (yes he is that old). This was followed by a  Diploma and then Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons.  His early career as a practice owning GDP (LDC secretary, chair of BDA section) ended when he ‘turned to the dark side’ and became a clinical academic.  His PhD in Clinical Prosthodontics from the University of Leeds followed in 2011.  He is currently a Clinical Associate Professor at Leeds and his research interests include patient centred randomised controlled clinical trials and the development of new prosthodontic materials and techniques.  He has 5 significant grants as PI or Co-I.  His research Prizes/Awards include the Senior Clinical Hatton Prize of IADR, BSODR Senior Colgate Prize,  and the BSSPD Presidents Prize. He was a council member for the BSSPD between 2008-11 and is currently on the management committee of BSODR.
