Gerodontics for the 21st Century

Aim and Objectives:

To give the author’s views on the main issues concerning Gerdontology in the 21st Century.

 

Tony Preston

Dr Tony Preston is a Senior Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in Restorative Dentistry. He qualified BDS from the University of Liverpool in 1987 and initially worked for several years as a General Dental Practitioner in the Merseyside area. He then studied for a PhD in dental cariology and worked in the Hospital Dental Service at Liverpool University Dental Hospital. He was appointed as a Lecturer in Restorative Dentistry (Conservative Dentistry) and completed his Fellowship in Dental Surgery. Dr Preston then moved to the University of Leeds where he was appointed as Lecturer and Honorary Specialist Registrar in Restorative Dentistry. At Leeds, he taught mainly within the prosthodontics area and completed his Higher Clinical Training in Restorative Dentistry before moving back to Liverpool in 2004, as a Senior Lecturer / Consultant in Restorative Dentistry. He has clinical interests in root surface caries, gerodontology and prosthodontics.
