Title: 'Periodontal considerations in Prosthodontic rehabilitation'

Aims and Objectives:

  • To evaluate and communicate periodontal risks prior to prosthodontic rehabilitation
  • To describe and understand the treatment options/decisions for tooth replacement in periodontally compromised dentitions
  • To understand the principles of denture design in the periodontitis patients
  • To understand and describe the stages of crown lengthening surgery
 

Paul Ryan

Paul obtained his primary dental degree (BDS) from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Dental Institute in 2003.  He went on to work in general dental practice and as a Senior House Officer in Oral Surgery and Restorative Dentistry at the Bristol Dental Hospital and subsequently at The Royal London Hospital. He was appointed as an Academic Specialist Registrar in 2007 and went on to complete his Clinical Masters and Specialist training in Periodontics in 2010.  Paul is currently an Academic Clinical Lecturer and is currently completing Specialist training in Restorative Dentistry at The Royal London Dental hospital. He is actively involved in research in clinical immunology and is also involved in teaching of Periodontal and Restorative dentistry to both undergraduate and postgraduate trainees.
