2023 Annual Conference Prizes

The 2023 Annual conference offers delegates the opportunity to enter for a number of prizes/awards. Please note that the society does not provide financial support to facilitate attendance to present for prizes and they can only be made by delegates of the conference.

All poster presenters need to be available for the whole conference to be considered for these prizes.

Schottlander Oral Presentation Prize
The Schottlander Oral prize is awarded to the best oral presentation, from those eligible, at the annual conference. All applicants must be current members of the society. Applications for this award are sought from members of the society and especially but not exclusively from those in training positions. The main focus is on a presentation relating to research and innovation in Prosthodontics, including, but not limited to, clinical case management, clinical, educational and laboratory based research, and also audit. The judges will be looking at the impact any innovation would be likely to make in prosthodontics, clinical case presentations involving innovation should demonstrate that the approach used has a wider clinical application and impact.

All applicants must submit a structured abstract of up to 500 words prior to the closing date of Midnight on Tuesday 31st January 2023 for the shortlisting procedure which will be undertaken by a panel of society judges under the chairmanship of Prof C Butterworth.

Schottlander Oral Presentations should last 20 minutes with 5 minutes for questions from the judging panel (this will be confirmed once the number of presenters has been finalised). Data projection facilities will be made available and presentations should be in PC (PowerPoint) format. If you wish to present via a Mac interface then you should inform the Society Awards Administrator before the Conference. Shortlisted candidates who are invited to make presentations will receive a conference fee reduction of £100. The British Society of Prosthodontics, in association with Schottlander, offer an annual prize of £1000, together with a certificate, to the principal author of the winning presentation given at the annual conference of the society.
