Aims:
This webinar aims to provide a Paediatric Dentistry update to facilitate the pragmatic and holistic approach to managing dental problems in the child patient.

Objectives:
By the end of the session, delegates will have a better understanding and improved confidence in:

  • Silver Diamine Fluoride & caries management in children
  • Diagnosing & managing enamel defects
  • Dental trauma management considerations in children
  • Referring children – when, to whom and where to.

Michelle deSouza

Michelle qualified from the University of Manchester in 2007. She then worked in general dental practice, a number of maxillofacial units and paediatric dentistry departments at both junior and middle-grade level. She completed her specialist training at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in 2015, prior to which she completed a Masters degree (with Distinction) in Paediatric Dentistry at King’s College London. She completed her consultant training and was subsequently appointed as consultant at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Trust (GSTT) in 2018. She has since worked at both GSTT and St George’s Hospital, London– the latter being where she spends most of her working week.

Michelle is a pragmatist at heart with a holistic approach to managing her paediatric dental patients. She enjoys multidisciplinary collaboration both with the other dental specialities and the wider paediatric medical and surgical teams.
