Dr Laura J Cross PhD, BDS, FDS RCPSG, FDS (Rest Dent) RCPSG, FHEA

Laura is a Consultant and Honorary Clinical Associate Professor in Restorative Dentistry based at Glasgow Dental Hospital and School where she is also Academic Head of Clinical Dentistry. She graduated with BDS from the University of Edinburgh in 1990, FDS from the RCPS Glasgow in 1993 and a PhD from the University of Glasgow in 1998. She won the Arthur R Frechette International Research Award in 1999 and work from her PhD was presented at the Glasgow College as the TC White Prize Lecture the same year. In 2009 she was selected to attend an international workshop for young prosthodontic educators run by the International College of Prosthodontists in Karlsruhe, Germany. She became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in 2013. More recently, Laura has been elected to the Scottish seat on the BDA Principal Executive Committee and will take up this position (as the first hospital dentist member of the BDA Board) in January 2020.

Clinical interests include maxillofacial prosthodontics, hypodontia and cleft management. She is the Restorative member of the West of Scotland auto-transplantation team.
