Conferences and events

The BSSPD has an annual conference and also runs other events throughout the year. We also run a series of online webinars each year that are free to members.

Annual Conference

Our annual conference is usually held in March each year and aims to address topical issues of interest to the dental profession, both dentists and dental care professionals. The major part of the Conference consists of a scientific programme during which papers, posters and table demonstrations are presented. Active discussion of the presentations has always been a feature of this Conference.

Information about the 2025 conference will be available from Autumn 2024.

Undergraduate Roadshows

During 2023 and 2024 we have run a series of roadshows aimed at undergraduates:

• Liverpool Thursday 18th January 2024
• Belfast: Monday 22nd January 2024
• Bristol: Thursday 7th March 2024

Early Practitioners Group

To encourage participation from young practitioners, we aim to deliver a wide range of targeted study days, involving undergraduates, GDPs, Foundation Dentists (FD's), dentists undergoing specialist training and young specialists.

Our next study day will be held on Friday 14th June 2024 (face to face) in Sheffield with the aim of providing specialty trainees within 12 months of sitting their ISFE or MPros exam an opportunity to practice oral examinations and obtain feedback on unseen restorative cases.
