BSSPD Early Career Poster Awards (formerly Coltene award)
These new awards are made to BSSPD members who are within 12 months of their BDS qualification, or undergraduates in their final year of study, at the time of application. Up to 3 awards will be made per year. The candidates are required to produce a poster to present at the Annual BSSPD Conference documenting a case report involving significant prosthodontic treatment. The scope of the award is such that cases involving either fixed or removable prosthodontic treatment are considered.
The awards include the following:
- A discount of £50 against the conference fee for all successfully shortlisted applications.
- A cash award to the value of £150 to all award winners.
- A certificate presented by BSSPD to all award winners
REGULATIONS
The British Society of Prosthodontics offers up to 3 annual awards to early career members who have managed a patient requiring significant Prosthodontic treatment, joint applications are not acceptable.
The Award consists of a monetary award of £150 together with a certificate awarded to the successful presenter(s).
Applicants for this award are required to submit a summary of a case that has required fixed or removable prosthodontic treatment and the applicant must have had substantial direct involvement in the prosthodontic care of the case presented. The application should include sufficient information relating to the clinical care of the case together with appropriate Figures and Legends that help to illustrate how the case was managed, together with the candidate’s reflection on the outcome of the prosthodontic treatment.
Applicants should email the Society Administrator (admin@bsspd.org) with their submission and signed declaration before the closing date displayed below. The submission must be made in electronic poster format (A0 size portrait orientation).
Initial shortlisting of the applications will be made on the recommendation of the Awards Administrator and successful applicants will be notified by email and provided with a personal discount code when registering for the Annual Conference.
Shortlisted candidates will be asked to present their poster at the BSSPD Annual Conference where their posters will be judged by the conference poster judging panel who will award up to 3 awards.
The deadline for applications is Midnight on 31st January 2025 and these should be made to admin@bsspd.org
